So nice to meet you

Hi! We are Eleanor, Dave, Adie and Julian and we’re on an adventure!

Since we were kids Dave and I dreamed of traveling around the world and in 2014 we finally took the leap! We spent 18 months on the road and that time changed us to our core; there was no going back... although we had to. We returned to work, started a family, bought a house, and focused on micro adventures but it didn’t feel like “the good life” it felt busy. So we decided to forge a different kind of future for ourselves driven by joy and intention. We made one change after another until we could leave again for good in 2022. We set off with our children, bicycles and backpacks, and today we are so grateful to be here to share the life changing experience of a grand adventure with you. We hope to inspire you to shake up your family life and experience all the beauty the world has to offer together.

  • Travelling with Eleanor, Dave, and their small family is always the best kind of adventure. They face any unexpected hiccups with humor and are very adept at problem solving, with the skill to make it feel like part of the journey. Such as the time they took us to the back country and we managed to get our motorhome stuck in the sand. Rather than the usual expletives and long wait for AAA, they had us cracking up as we used plastic shovels and wood boards to rescue ourselves. We always feel safe, even when venturing into uncharted territories, and inspired to push ourselves further as we see how they have shaped their lives into such a wonderful journey. The little ones, Adie and Julian only enhance the experience with their bubbly and inquisitive personalities, and we cannot wait to join them again.

  • We can't imagine a more resourceful, patient, and creatively inventive couple than Dave and Eleanor. Their ability to go with the tide while staying calm and level-headed in any situation was exactly what we needed as we ventured out of our comfort zone. Even when we accidentally sank an oar from their canoe and had to hand-paddle in freezing water to the shore of our campground, Dave and Eleanor kept us laughing and safe while seamlessly problem solving and planning the next steps. Their years of global travel have taught them that no obstacle is too big to overcome, demonstrating that trusting and enjoying the process is all part of the fun of being away from home.
